Age Requirement
Pintless is intended for users aged 18 and over. We use OS-level age verification (Apple Declared Age Range / Google Play Age Signals) to gate access. By using the App, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
Information We Collect
Account & Profile Information
- Account Information: When you register or log in (via email/password, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In), we collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials.
- Profile Information: Your display name, profile picture, and public profile data including your drink streak, Pro/Supporter status, and avatar.
- Friends and Social Data: Friend requests (sent and received), mutual friend lists, community memberships, and social interactions including reactions, comments, and @mentions.
Activity & Event Data
- Drink Tracking: Drinks logged (type, ABV, price), daily consumption totals (drink count, units, spend), and drink presets you use.
- Events & Pub Crawls: Events you create or join, participant data, leaderboard rankings (drinks, spend, steps, speed), venue visits, and event duration.
- Daily Posts & Timeline: Your daily post content (drinks logged, photos, cost), reactions, comments, and timeline feed entries shared with friends.
- Streaks & Powerups: Streak data, grace period status, and powerup inventory and usage history (Streak Shield, Last Call, Ghost Mode, Streak Breaker).
Location Data
- Background Location: During active pub crawls, we collect GPS coordinates at high frequency (every 15 seconds / 10 meters) for route tracking, distance calculation, and venue detection.
- Public Location: Your location coordinates are rounded to approximately 100 meters for public profile display and nearby friend discovery (within a 50km radius).
- Venue Detection: We use the Google Places API to identify nearby venues during pub crawls. API calls are throttled (max 6 per hour) and only triggered when you have moved 300+ meters.
- Sensor Data: Pedometer step counts and accelerometer readings for leaderboard stats during events.
Media & Content
- Photos & Videos: Media uploaded to events, daily posts, communities, and profile pictures. Images are processed into full and thumbnail sizes. Free users may upload 1 photo per daily post; Pro users have unlimited uploads.
- User-Generated Content: Comments, @mentions, emoji reactions, and content reports you submit.
Device & Technical Data
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and push notification tokens.
- Purchase Data: Subscription status (Pro) and consumable powerup purchases processed through RevenueCat. We do not directly handle your payment card details.

iOS Features & On-Device Data
On iOS, Pintless uses Live Activities and widgets to display real-time pub crawl stats (drinks, spend, distance, current venue) on your lock screen and home screen. This data is stored locally in an App Group container shared between the app, widgets, and share extension. A share extension allows you to queue photos to an event directly from your photo library. Widget data is refreshed via background fetch. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to third parties.
Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users via email and/or in-app notification as soon as possible, in accordance with applicable laws.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access and Updates: You can access, update, or delete your personal data through your account settings. You may also request account deletion and data erasure by contacting us.
- Opt-out: You may opt-out of certain data collection and marketing communications.
- Data Portability: You may request a copy of your data in a structured format.
- Withdrawal of Consent: You can withdraw consent for data processing where applicable.
- GDPR/CCPA Compliance: If you are located in the European Economic Area or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA, including the right to restrict processing and object to certain uses of your data.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at the information provided below.
Automated Decision-Making
The App does not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects or similarly significant impacts on users.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Locally cached data (friends lists, community data) uses a 30-minute TTL and is stored in AsyncStorage on your device.
Account Deletion
You may request account deletion at any time through the app's settings or by contacting support. Account deletion follows a soft-delete process with a 6-month grace period. During this period you can cancel the deletion by logging back in. Pending deletions are processed on January 1 and July 1 each year. Upon final deletion, your account data, posts, event participation, and stored media will be permanently removed.
Content Moderation & Blocking
Users can report objectionable content (photos, posts, comments) and block other users. Reports are stored with the content type, reason, reporter ID, and timestamp. Blocked users are tracked bidirectionally. Flagged photos are annotated in the database for admin review. We use this data solely to enforce our community guidelines and ensure user safety.
Children's Privacy
Pintless is intended for users aged 18 and over due to its alcohol-related content. We use OS-level age verification (Apple Declared Age Range / Google Play Age Signals) to prevent access by minors. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a user under 18, we will delete it immediately.
International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
